Help Peggy's Family Through This Tragic Time
Donation protected
Most of you know my mother-in-law, Peggy Wilson. She has been through a lot since her second half passed away from lung cancer in 2018. She financially never really recovered from that, and she has had some health issues herself and just went through a vein bypass surgery in her leg at the beginning of October and was out of work for a while recovering from that. Then she ended up in the ER with pneumonia the week before Thanksgiving. She was back at the doctor the day before Thanksgiving, sent home. She didn’t want to do anything on Thanksgiving, so we surprised her and brought her dinner and ate dessert and spent time with her that evening. That night at 11 pm, our world turned upside down. Maria had to call 911. Peggy had a heart attack and her blood sugar spiked over 1400. She was transferred to Williamsport Hospital where she spent a few weeks. We had some scary days while she was down there, and we weren’t sure if she would even make it out of the hospital. We thought we finally got some answered prayers and she was up walking. We were so hopeful. They transferred her to Wellsboro Hospital to fully recover from everything. She was doing so good. Then she took a turn for the worse and ended up back in the ICU. They put her on a different medication as a last resort for a couple of days, only to find out her body wasn’t responding to it and only less than 20% of her heart was working. They stopped the medication on Monday, 12/16, and her body has been slowly shutting down. We have been at her side throughout this process because we know she would do the same for us. Her biggest worry as she is laying here is making sure we are okay and she hasn’t wanted any financial burden on any of us, which right now is so hard to say we are okay. We have learned she didn’t have anything set up financially to take care of anything, so anything that is donated will not only go towards funeral expenses but also to help Maria, Rich, and myself to cover unpaid time off from work to be at her side.
Update: Peggy passed away December 20th.
we are currently trying to go through things. And right now really finding out about the seriousness of the financial hard times she was experiencing. These burdens are now trickling down to us on top of funeral expenses. We appreciate any donation or share.
We know it’s not financially an easy time for anyone right now. But even just a share will help. Our holiday season will never be the same.
