Brain surgery. God help this family.
Hi, my name is Jody Chisholm. I am asking the community to come together for Kaylee and Dave Pellack and their baby girl, Kinley. Everything happened so quickly. In a blink of an eye, their world has been turned upside down.
Dave Pellack is a strong, healthy 31-year-old man who was diagnosed with a large brain tumor on Monday, and is undergoing surgery today (August 11).
Kaylee and Dave are a beautiful young couple who are selfless and kind. They have a beautiful two month old daughter named Kinley.
Dave Pellack is a hard-working man who loves his family and adores his new baby girl. He is dedicated to health and fitness and is in the best shape of his life. He recently started a new job and Hazel crest after working for Illinois American water for many years. On the weekends when he’s not boating, he’s building things. He never sits still. He is an amazing husband, father, son, brother, colleague and friend.
Kaylee has dedicated her life to working with people with special needs. She studied special education and elementary education at Purdue university, earned her masters in applied behavior analysis at Trinity Christian college and is a board certified behavior analyst. She grew up in the cheerleading community, cheering for the New Lenox mustangs, Lincoln Way, Central, Purdue university, and even the Indianapolis Colts. She took her passion in cheerleading to the ultimate level when she became a cheer abilities Cheer Coach and choreographer and dedicated her time to ensuring the success of special needs athletes everywhere. She is a wife, mother, daughter, sister, teacher and coach.
Kinley, their baby girl, is the center of their universe. According to Dave, Kinley‘s future is already mapped out. She is daddy‘s little girl. Dave is committed to getting through this medical emergency because nothing will get in the way of his vision for their future.
Since early July, Dave suffered several silent seizures. He thought it may have been heat related or perhaps low blood sugar. He called the doctor and was seen right away. An MRI showed a mass on the left side of his brain. The side of his brain that controls site, speech and mobility. He went back for more tests and the doctors informed Dave and Caylee that the tumor requires immediate medical attention.
Dave is undergoing surgery to remove the tumor. Everything is happening very fast. As you can imagine they are both worried about their ability to cope with the aftermath of brain surgery from a healing perspective. There is so much uncertainty. For now they are preparing for the long road ahead. The possibility of Dave being out of work for sometime. As a new couple, they are very concerned about their ability to handle medical bills on top of their mortgage and day-to-day expenses with a new baby.
I am reaching out to the community, friends and family asking for your help. Please consider a donation to help this family. All proceeds will go directly into an account that Dave and Kaylee control.
Sincerely,
Jody Chisholm
