Help Penny Fight Pancreatic Cancer
Donation protected
This past August, my mom, Penny Barker, went to Memorial Sloan Kettering for an ultrasound to determine the cause of her severe abdominal pain. Doctors discovered she had a cyst on her pancreas. A month later, she had another ultrasound that showed the cyst had grown significantly, and looked to be more malignant than they had initially thought. Due to the location and the excruciating pain the cyst was causing her, doctors decided to perform a Pancreatectomy and Splenectomy. Soon after, they diagnosed her with Stage 3 Pancreatic Cancer and Adenocarcinoma.
Penny’s doctors are having her undergo biweekly chemotherapy treatments for the next six months, beginning next week at Sloan Kettering. We are raising funds to help her with medical costs associated with surgery, chemo, and medications, as well as gas, parking, and lodging expenses.
Penny is an incredible mother, yaya, sister, girlfriend, aunt, and friend, and she means so much to all of us. If you’re lucky enough to know her, you know she is willing to do anything for her loved ones, and is always putting them first. Well, it’s our turn to put her first and help support her in her fight against Cancer. Any donation or share will be greatly appreciated!
Thank you all for your outpouring of love and support. Please continue to keep my mom in your thoughts and prayers as she begins this battle!
