Help people affected by Hurricane Beryl in the United States

American Red Cross disaster teams are working around the clock to help people across southeastern Texas where Beryl has left almost two million customers without power while dangerous heat covers the region.

Working with Texas government officials and the community, hundreds of trained Red Cross disaster workers are focused on getting aid into the hands of those who need it most, including safe shelter, meals, and relief supplies. Emergency shelters are open across the region and we strongly encourage anyone who needs a safe place away from the heat and hurricane damage to come to a shelter.

It may be days, even weeks before power is restored. This is the second time in a little over two months that people in the area have dealt with flooding and prolonged power outages. The compounding impacts of Hurricane Beryl and extreme heat in Texas are examples of how disasters are becoming more intense due to the climate crisis.
