Dear Friends and Animal Lovers,
I would like to begin by introducing you to Perla. She is an 11 year old Maltese/Pomeranian mix. Although she may be older, she is still an energetic and playful dog, but recently she has not been the same girl we all know and love. She has started to develop two masses on her inner thigh and since has been very docile and disinterested. After taking her to the vet we learned some very disheartening news.
Perla's veterinarian, Dr. Smith, has informed us that she needs urgent surgery to remove the tumors from her mammary glands. She recommended a full mammary chain removal to tackle the tumors and necessary lab tests to determine whether the masses are cancerous or not. The total cost for her surgery and related expenses is estimated to be $3,000.
This surgery is crucial for Perla's health and well-being. She currently does not have all of her mobility due to the masses and where they are located. This is one of the main reason we want to have them removed. I am determined to give her the best chance to live out the rest of her life as comfortably as possible. Any contribution, no matter the size, will make a significant difference.
