Help Pete Espinosa stand up to a brain tumor
Donation protected
What began as a “funny feeling” in his foot and leg, Pete thought may have just been a strain or pinched nerve from working out. He never dreamed, or feared, anything more. He is a healthy young man who exercises and is active with his kids. He cares deeply for his family, coworkers, patients, and friends. He does not smoke. A week or two later when the feeling started to effect the arm “on the same side,” he knew it was something more than that. As an ophthalmic technician for 15 yrs. and having medical knowledge, he knew he needed to have this checked out. His primary care doctor quickly sent him to get a MRI. The report was “concerning” so they sent him directly to Wesley Hospital where they performed more tests, blood work, CT, another MRI and then quickly a brain biopsy. The biopsy was sent to Mayo, MD Anderson and Cleveland Clinic. DNA testing was performed. Three agonizing weeks later, results show Pete has Grade 3 Astrocytoma.
As Pete’s family, including wife Nicole, a school counselor, and two young daughters’, ages 11 and 9, begin this journey, they need and appreciate your help. Everyone who knows Pete recognizes his love for his family, friends, coworkers, and patients. His quick wit, friendly smile, and incredible sense of humor simply win people over. Pete lives his life by spreading happiness and good to the world. He in turn is loved and supported by many. The Espinosa’s will need significant financial assistance while receiving surgery, radiation, and chemo at MD Anderson in Houston. All proceeds will be going towards Lodging, Travel, Lost Wages and Child Care. PLEASE consider a generous donation along with your thoughts and prayers.
On behalf of Pete and Nicole, their friends, family, work families from Grene Vision Group and USD 259, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Another option for funding is Venmo @Superflynasty.
