Help Peter Build an English School in Laxsao
Donation protected
Hello everyone!
We’d like to introduce Peter, his father, and their story of helping the children of Laxsao, a village in Laos, have an opportunity at a future with more possibilities.
Since 2016, Peter along with the help of his father, have opened up Liengnaboune Language and Computer Centre, an English school for the children of Laxsao. They started with just one classroom and about twenty children. In 2018 they were running three different classrooms with over twenty students per classroom. After seeing the clear need and desire for the children to learn English, Peter and his father also decided to begin constructing an official English school with two floors, and five to six classrooms per floor from scratch in 2018.
Since then, Peter and his father have followed a daily routine of spending four to five hours in the morning building the school, followed by 3 hours of teaching children English in the afternoon. Recently they’ve acquired the help of international volunteers which has allowed them to progress a lot.
Now they need help finishing the last part, the roof. Once they’ve finished they can open their doors to house the children of Laxsao full time, drastically expanding their opportunities to learn English and giving them a shot at a brighter future. Due to the rising inflation rates, risk of safety, and cost of materials in Laos, they can no longer continue the job themselves. Peter and his father are hoping to raise any money to help them with material costs and hiring a professional team to help them finish the roof.
As Peter and his father have worked on their project to teach the children of Laxsao English for the past seven years, it’s their dream to see this project finished.
We ask that anyone donate whatever they can. Given the exchange of Dollar to Kip (Laos currency), even a donation of $5 would go a very long way for the community.
Can we help Peter and his father help the children of Laxsao?
Thank you!
