Help Phally's family beat Lung Cancer after Covid
Donation protected
Hi all, - Chanphally recently told me about her struggles and challenges her family is facing. Her family’s story is very touching and inspired me to help her start this GoFundMe for her family. Thanks for visiting! Below is her written story to share with everyone in hopes that she could help them overcome this challenge.
My Story...
My name is Chanphally Tan. I moved to live in Seattle, Washington a few years ago from Cambodia. I have several family members who live in Cambodia, and since the beginning of COVID-19, it has been so difficult for those who live there.
My sister, Sophorn Tan, contracted the COVID-19 virus in late June, 2021 after receiving treatment, she was getting better for a while. However, she started having headaches and always felt tired. She went to see a doctor in Phnom Penh, and the doctor told her that she has a lung tumor and a liver tumor. She decided to get chemotherapy(chemo) from the hospital there in the hope that this drug treatment would kill these fast-growing cells in her body.
Unfortunately, the doctor in Phnom Penh found that another tumor is growing in her brain (brain tumor). She sought treatment in Thailand in early 2023, and at this point the tumor had reached her spinal cord. She decided to have laser treatment for her brain tumor in Thailand, and this eased the pain for about 1 week. After 1 week, she started to have painful symptoms around her hip and her back, and the cost of another laser to this tumor is about $10k(USD), and she cannot afford to pay this cost. She came back to Phnom Penh and continued chemo treatment. Her condition is worsening day by day. Starting in July 2023, she had to have blood infusion due to low blood counts. My family has run out of any means to support her, and for her remaining days we need some funds/donations to see her live for her remaining days in this beautiful world.
I would be so humbled and appreciative for anything you could do to help me. Please consider donating any amount to help me reach my goal for my family’s care. I will keep all of those who donate updated on my family’s situation and let you know how things are progressing. Please share this link with anyone you know who might be interested in helping my sister.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read my story. I appreciate every one of you! Stay healthy and I hope you and your loved ones are well. God bless!
Sincerely,
Chanphally Tan
