Help Philip (Olen) with medical expenses

Philip Millican Jr served as a rifleman in the USMC including a combat deployment where he was awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with a C for Combat. Upon returning home, his service to others continued. He volunteered for several mission trips and solo-funded trips to provide aid to the local populace of small countries afflicted by war. On his most recent trip, he was hit by a sniper in the forehead causing extensive damage. His skull was shattered, he suffered a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) along with shrapnel lodged in his skull. We are asking for donations to help with the recovery of a selfless young man that would have done the same for anyone he met.

The initial donations will be used first to repay the already accumulated medical bills to include a medevac home that required a personal medical team. Along with the flight home more medical bills are forthcoming for continued care that includes a total of 2 months of hospital stay in ICU, 3 major surgeries as well as inpatient and outpatient physical therapy.

After this, donations will be used to further his care in a long road to recovery. In the future he may require facial reconstruction surgery. He will be in physical and speech therapy for no less than 12 more months and may not be able to hold any job for 3 years or longer. The family has also dropped to working part time to care for him, and extra funds will be used to keep the family above water on bills during his recovery.

Philip is an outstanding young man and lights up a room with a wild joke everywhere he goes. He has been a protector and helper since he was a child, and that’s all he knows. He has always been the first one to stand up to help anyone in need, and we pray that you all can find it in your heart to do the same for him and his family by donating what you can and sharing it with everyone you know.
