Help Phoebe Rose rise from the floods

If you do not know Phoebe Rose, allow me to share a bit about this amazing person.

 

Phoebe is an extremely hard-working arts worker, artist, musician and support worker. Phoebe works for Arts Northern Rivers (which also lost their offices at the Lismore regional gallery) and creates music with bands Phrose and TralalaBlip.

 

She is always available to help her friends, clients and colleagues, even when she is struggling. Phoebe struggles to put herself first and is always out there in the community, doing everything she can to give her time and energy. Having lived all her life in the Northern Rivers and enduring her fair share of adversity and hardship, she has ALWAYS been a lifeline for so many of us far and wide.

 

So, its time- Everyone's favourite stoic and enduring cheerleader Phoebe needs your help!

After going through the 2017 Lismore floods like the champ she is, 2022 decided to test her endurance even further with the recent epically disastrous Lismore floods. Like so many others, this recent disaster has robbed her of her home, her possessions but not her spirit.

 

Phoebe will have to start again from the ground up. Phoebe's iMac, art, white goods, furniture, some of her musical equipment and not to mention her priceless sentimental items are gone. But she is maintaining her trademark unbroken spirit; she is genuinely awe-inspiring.

 

On Monday, the 28th of February, Phoebe managed a huge mission to escape from her inundated home with her black hound Esther in tow. A true warrior on a solo life-saving mission- she tied her dog's lead around her waist and used the last of her phone battery to call for help. Thankfully after floating for hours, she was picked up by local heroes on boats and, after a harrowing and long, wet day, was ferried to higher ground and taken in by kind friends.

 

Right now, Phoebe, along with hundreds of displaced residents across the Northern Rivers, is undertaking the massive job of clearing out her rented home in South Lismore. This is a truly devastating and exhausting experience. Unfortunately, it is unknown when phoebe will be back to work or even on her feet again, so anything you can give will be greatly appreciated. Phoebe is an integral part of the northern rivers and beyond with all the tireless work she does in the Arts, Disability support, and her community.
