Help Phoenix get up and going.

Hello, I’m Lauren and I’m Phoenix mum.
Phoenix was born premature in November 2020 with the most severe type of Spina Bifida, Myelomeningecele after having Fetal surgery to repair the lesion on his back.. once Phoenix was born he was faced with some difficulties from the beginning, he requires oxygen to treat central apneas as he sleeps and had a surgery at 5weeks old called and ETV with CPC - Endoscopic Third Ventriculostomy With Choroid Plexus Cauterization, to make a hole in the brain floor to allow the fluid to drain and circulate as a result of Hydrocephalus.
Phoenix has had endless appointments and check ups since and has regular physio visits to encourage the strength in his legs and hips, we were advised Phoenix would be paralysed fro m the waist down during pregnancy and he is continuing to defy the odds and has recently started moving his legs one infront of the other and has shown an interest in getting up and moving, anyway the reason for this fundraiser is for the sole purpose of getting Phoenix on his feet and helping him grow stronger, with the help of a specialist physio therapist who is based in Florida who pioneered treatment system based on the needs of children specifically with spina bifida this system would require a specialist stimulation machine and the equipment to go with this enough for at least three/four months online zoom sessions with the physio to learn how to. And a vibration plate to promote muscle strength in the tight muscles on Phoenix left foot and ankle.
The hopes we have are that Phoenix will become strong enough to be able to stand by himself and to walk whilst continuing to defy the odds given to him before birth and even now.
With all of this being said we are eternally greatful in advance of any help we can get as this equipment and the sessions are so very expensive and unfortunately is just not something we can afford to do on our own.
if you’ve reached the bottom I cannot thank you enough for reading our Phoenix story
