Help Pier Employees Recover After Two Devastating Hurricanes

Our team at City Pier Grill on Anna Maria Island has been hit hard by two back-to-back hurricanes, and we’re asking for your support to help us get back on our feet.

In early September, Hurricane Helene flooded much of Anna Maria Island, forcing the pier to close for repairs. This meant we lost several weeks of wages, and many of us struggled to make ends meet during that time. Just as we were preparing to return to work, Hurricane Milton hit and caused even more devastation. The pier’s walkway was destroyed, leaving our restaurant inaccessible and forcing all of us to be laid off.

For many of us, this was our primary source of income, and we’ve been left with no work and no income as the rebuilding process continues. Some of us have been able to find temporary work, but it’s been a struggle, especially with the financial strain from both hurricanes hitting so close together.

We’re asking for any help you can offer as we try to cover our bills, rent, and other basic expenses while we look for new jobs. Our goal is to let this GoFundMe run until December 1st and then split the funds evenly among the 9 of us who worked at the pier and are accepting donations.
