Help Piers fight stage 4 cancer!

Hi, My name is Stewart Cole and I am setting this up on behalf of one of my best mates Piers Johnston .

Our good friend Piers has been diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic bowel cancer. The variation he has is associated with a very poor prognosis. The median overall survival is somewhere in the ballpark of 18 months. The Current treatment is considered palliative. Piers is hoping to hold out for some kind of trial which may offer better odds, however the odds aren’t great.

This has turned piers and his partner Ra's lives on end. Piers and ra have had to relocate from their home in Mparntwe/Alice springs to naarm/melbourne for treatment and to take stock of any potential alternative pathways.

We are hoping to raise money to help piers take a swing at the beast. Or at least make the best of the time he has remaining. Anything people can spare will be of significant help and much appreciated.

Piers has been deeply touched by the care and support that he’s received to date and feels bloody lucky to have such an excellent group of people looking out for him.

“Hi. I wanted to put something out into the slurry of collective consciousness. As one may expect I’ve been doing some thinking. The Conditions of which have been pretty unique for me up until this point in my life. Real and sustained existential threat is a curious experience. It’s one I’m interested in exploring with company. I’m keen for expressions of interest for works of art or activism focusing on terminality, end of life and whatever threads can be woven between myself, the artist and (my likely) death. For me it’s an opportunity to bring a layer of awareness into a time that I desperately seek to extract all vital substance from. For another it may be a portal into a space reserved for the doomed.
