Help the Archie "Pili" Dunn ʻOhana

Donation protected
Our Maui ʻOhana is in need. Our dear brother Archie “Pili” Kekai Dunn passed away last night, Sunday, August 13th.

On Friday, August 11th, Pili was hospitalized with low oxygen and unstable vitals. Over three days, doctors administered countless medications as his body fell into sepsis. With multiple organs shut down, he was placed on dialysis to help treat and support his body. He fought hard, but Sunday evening, his heart stopped, and we said goodbye to one of the most remarkable men I have ever known.

The cause of his condition is still unknown.

Pili’s family is mourning a great loss. His wife, Kayla, and two young children (4 & 6 yrs old) are surrounded by loving and supportive friends and family. However, they face an uncertain future and heavy financial burdens.

We are asking for financial support for medical expenses, funeral costs, and aid for the kid's needs during this time and into the near future. ICU costs run tens of thousands of dollars a day. Even with insurance coverage, this is a heavy financial burden. The average funeral cost in Hawaiʻi is around $15k. We want to allow them to mourn without stressing about these expenses.

On top of this, Pili’s family is coping with incomprehensible loss because of the Lāhainā fires. We are trying to bring any relief and support we can during this overwhelmingly challenging time.

When asked about Pili, I think of his aloha spirit. He was kind and caring, one of the hardest working men I have ever met, a loving and devoted father, a supportive husband, brother, and son. He was a generous community member who worked at the local Post Office and shared his aloha with everyone daily.

Please share your aloha to support our brother Pili and his family.
