Help Poliana's family continue to make memories
Donation protected
Thank you so much to everyone that has reached out, kept us in your thoughts, and offered to help Poliana’s family. We have been with them for about a week now and believe that your support is something that will be incredibly appreciated and useful for them —
Poliana Hauptmann was born on September 24th, 1977. Poliana has four younger siblings; but in 1991, the family was devastated by the death of one of their siblings. Poliana said that this shifted their family’s focus to make family central; and being with family, traveling, and making memories as a family was, from then on, absolutely essential. To the very end, this was a value that Poliana lived by.
On December 27th, 2022, our dear Poliana tragically passed away abruptly from a heart attack while at work as a nurse. She was only 45 years old. She is survived by her husband, Olaf, and six children.
Early on at home, Poliana homeschooled her six children before going back to school to become an intensive care nurse.
As a nurse, Poliana was selflessly on the frontlines during covid and caught covid multiple times throughout the pandemic. She worked long hours (including being a travel nurse) in order for her children to have everything they needed including a beautiful home.
Poliana truly believed in investing in her family and their hobbies, education, and interests; as a result, these are some of the most intelligent and kind children we know.
Poliana loved her garden, crocheting, and traveling.
Before she passed, Poliana expressed to us that, "As long as her kids are okay, everything else does not matter.”
The same way Poliana put her family first, we want to help her family financially with their immediate needs while they adjust to a new normal and also support them so they can continue to build memories as a family. We want them to be able to travel, get new musical instruments, draw, get a new telescope, or anything else that will enrich their lives.
Any support is incredibly appreciated as part of this GoFundMe, but if for some reason this platform is too public, please do not hesitate to reach out to us directly.
