Help the Porter Family

We've known the Porter family for over 10 years, and they are some of the nicest, hard working people you will ever meet. Heather and Michael are not ones to ask for help, but I implore you to help this wonderful family. This year has been tremendously difficult for them.

Their story:
Heather and Michael are small business owners of Visionary Family Eye Care, where they are dedicated to serving the Flower Mound and surrounding community. Having only been open for 2 years, they made the difficult decision to close their doors for 3 months to protect their patients and family from COVID-19, especially since Heather was newly pregnant and she, Michael, and their 1 year old son are all at high risk.  

After months of lost income and taking careful health precautions, during the week of Father's day, Heather suffered a devastating, unexpected miscarriage at 5 months. I don't have to tell you how painful an experience this is. After going through the unimaginable, they are now having to deal with a $5000+ hospital bill. 

On top of everything, they are now facing a new unanticipated health expense. Michael had been experiencing health issues since high school, stemming from a contaminated water source. After visits to his doctor, these issues have culminated into needing a surgery and treatment that costs upwards of $50,000. Michael needs this surgery soon, or he will continue to worsen and get more sick.  

What you can do to help:
Dealing with health problems and grief is already so difficult, but then being confronted with an immense financial load only adds to their hardship. I know this year has been difficult for all of us, but I am asking for any financial support you can give to lighten their load.  Hearing how much the Porter family has been suffering, I felt powerless, not knowing how to help.  At least this way, together we have the ability to provide some relief for this wonderful family.
