Help Our Male Children Catch Up!

In West Charlotte, N.C. , currently only 38 out of 100 Black and Brown males are reading on grade level by the 8th grade. According to the Dept. of Justice, "the link between academic failure and delinquency, violence and crime is welded to reading failure (July 26, 2016).

We created Power Elite Male Academy to address this and other issues that our males are having. We are committed to academically and socially strengthening the males in our area. With the proper motivation, engagement, remediation and support of adult males from our community, we have seen students who have worked with us see growth of 2-3 reading levels within 1 year. Our students (3rd grade to college) are motivated to be stakeholders in their own rescue, because we respect them, we find and address the barriers to their success and we make learning fun! In addition to academics, we will also offer activities in sports: traditional as well as non conventional and Esports! Also, we will offer activities in art and travel, music, karate, leadership and entrepreneurship! We want to help even more of our young men! How? We have secured a facility to offer our program to more males, but it is in need of renovations. We need to fix up areas, paint, and put in new windows and doors, We also need to fix up and supply the kitchen area and purchase furniture, books, electronics and other supplies. WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT. Please, help us reach our goal.
