Help Precious Heal: Support Her Recovery

Precious was found in North Carolina, living in messes and riddled with infection.

Sent to a high kill shelter, she was scheduled for euthanasia within the week.

Luckily a local rescue saw that Precious had much more life to give, and connected with Heavenly Angels Animal Rescue, who committed to saving her life not only by getting her out of the shelter but by moving her out of state for the months of rehabilitation and medical care she'd need for a full recovery.

You can clearly see that most of her wounds are only skin deep. Despite living in agony for months, she's a super sweet girl with a bubbly personality and a zest for life.

But those wounds she has are also significant. We've fostered over 75 dogs, some with severe medical issues, and she's the first dog whose condition I simply can't post photos of because the state of her is too disturbing.

However, she also looks so much better now than they did when they found her! Over time she won't need the thundershirt to hold the 3 layers of bandages in place; eventually we'll take the bandages off, and then we'll post photos of the peach fuzz when her skin heals and her fur returns.

And someday we'll show her really stepping out, with a new adoptive family.
