Help Preserve Clayton's Iconic Eagle
Donation protected
Help Save the Eagle! We are building a structure to protect this Historic Eagle from the elements.
This 9 ft tall, 8 ft wide Eagle was sculptured, molded, fired and assembled at the Washington Brick & Lime Terracotta Plant in Clayton, Washington, about 1922. It perched on the National Guard Armory in Spokane, WA, until 1976 when it was moved to Spokane’s Geiger Field. Because of extensive revamping the National Guard awarded possession to us, the Clayton/ Deer Park Historical Society in 2010. It was put on display at the Clayton Drive In. With the closing of the Drive In 2022 it was moved to the Clayton Fairgrounds.
Because of some deterioration we decided to put a cover over the Eagle. The expense was much more than we anticipated. Donations haven't reached the estimate of over $17,000.
