St Paul A.M.E. Church, 16 Ridge Avenue, Washington PA, is in desperate need of your help. Please consider joining me James (Cookie) McDonald along with Pastor Lowell Wright by making a donation that will fund a new roof, new furnace system, and numerous interior/exterior building repairs. Our need has never been so great in raising $275,000.00 to keep this beautiful Church on the Hill a safe place for families to worship.

St. Paul A.M.E. Church has a rich history in the community and for 200 years God has sustained and empowered us to touch the lives of many individuals. Generations of families have come through the doors of St. Paul which have resulted in change and salvation to many.

St. Paul A.M.E. was founded in 1818. It carries a very long history. And many of your ancestors were instrumental in its growth. Throughout many years St. Paul occupied the building on West Wheeling Street, Washington PA. Then in 1985 one of the most devastating events occurred, the church was consumed by fire.

In 1992 a committee was formed focusing on the Church's status. I participated and was instrumental in spearheading the process of selling our property to Washington County (for their planned project of building a new jail). St. Paul A.M.E. then purchased property at 16 Ridge Avenue, Washington PA, where we reside today. And in September 1994 the construction of the Church was completed, and the keys were given to the pastor.

It's been 30 years, and we are now in need of your help to raise $275,000.00 to replace our roof, our furnace system, and to complete numerous other building repairs. Your donation will make a huge impact. So please join Pastor Lowell Wright, along with me and the members of St. Paul A.M.E. in keeping the Church on the Hill alive under God's leadership.
