Help Preserve the Historic Goldman House Art

Please Help Us Save All We Can of the Unique Goldman House - a structure of artistic/architectural and historical importance.
We, the grassroots Friends of the Goldman House, are raising funds to rescue the artistic/sculptural elements of the lovely and art-laden Goldman House.
This one-of-a-kind house was a cornerstone of the Modern School/Ferrer Colony, a utopian community in Piscataway, NJ. It is on the State and National Registers of Historic Places. That status means it was deemed historically important, but does not protect it from demolition. We can rescue elements if we hire & pay the pros to do that.
The entire house is a work of art. It was built by labor activist / bohemian / freethinker / craftsman / folk artist Sam Goldman who fled religious and political persecution in his native Russia. He came to the Modern School/Ferrer Colony and began creating his masterpiece in 1915. He was a respected and beloved member of the community and, with his wife Gusta, raised his family in the remarkable house.
The Modern School community was centered around a school founded on principles of freedom in education. It was a utopian setting where people of various backgrounds, religions, and political persuasions lived in harmony. And many members were active in social justice causes.
The Goldman House, a structure full of symbolic and meaningful art, both inside and out, was a hub of learning and creativity in this utopian haven.
THE GOLDMAN HOUSE DESERVES TO BE PRESERVED AND COMMEMORATED.
We need your help to do this.
Our grassroots group has been busily gathering estimates for professional removal of artistic elements (which will need to be moved and stored, pending installation in a permanent location).
We are in contact with historical and arts organizations, both public and private, exploring the best options to house and display the components we are able to save.
Once the important work of rescuing and relocating the sculpture/artwork has been done, remaining funds will be used to commemorate the house; options include installing a plaque at 143 School St. (the site of the Goldman House) and commissioning a painting or model of the house, to be exhibited with the preserved artwork.
We must raise considerable funds to do this.

Any amount you can contribute will be greatly appreciated. If you’re unable to donate at this time, a share with your friends or family would mean a lot to us. Thank you!
