"For we must share if would keep
That blessing from above;
Ceasing to give, we cease to have;
Such is the law of LOVE."
R. C. Trench
This was true of our beloved great, great grandparents who lived in Raso Megna, Ethiopia.
Raso Megna kebelae is a beautiful terrain located in Northern Shoa, Selalae, Degem wereda! At the top of this terrain exists a house built in 1904 Ethiopian Calendar. Today this 109 years old house has been converted into a church and serves the community of about 3000 people of which 1020 are farmers.
This house used to belong to our great great grandparents Fitawrari Sinke and Emmewa who had been kind and generous to the ancestors of those who live there today. This is the legacy/gift that has been bestowed upon us, their descendants!
The community is planning to build a bigger sanctuary and use the old church as the place where the sacraments are prepared. They have raised up some money for this project, but they need help to cover the cost of the iron rods! They have reached out to us, the descendants of Sinke, asking for help.
In the hope of leaving our mark to the next generation, albeit small, we have set up a gofundme account to raise the money they need for the iron rods. Cost of the iron rods and delivery is about $5500. Our goal is to raise $6000.
Would you be able to contribute to our fundraiser? A donation of any amount would truly help us reach our goal. To donate simply click the link to our fundraiser below.
If you could also share this fundraiser link with your friends, it would mean so much. Thank you for your contributions!
Sincerely,
The descendants of Sinke!
