In 2013 Priscilla Naa-Akleh Okantey suffered a car crash that almost took her life. She survived but not without undergoing several medical procedures including emergency reconstructive surgeries on her arm and leg which were shattered on impact when the vehicle crashed. She was 23 when it happened.
The surgeries in her arm didn’t take well and since then, she has had to undergo surgery three more times. both the emotional and financial strain on her loved ones has been debilitating.
Priscilla's arm needs urgent attention or she risks losing it completely. Surgical operations in Ghana failed to rectify the problem and now we’ve found a limb reconstruction specialist in South Africa who can fix this once and for all but she cannot afford it.
The thing is, Naa is always looking out for others and giving herself to causes that bring relief to other people’s lives. For years she’s run a volunteer network called Reachout World Mission that feeds street children and orphans in Ghana, provides free medical aid to marginalized communities and basic comforts to homeless persons.
A lot of people depend on her. This GoFundMe page is a last effort to get our hero the help that she needs. It was created by some volunteers at Reachout, her close friends and family.
Help us write a good ending to this trying chapter in the life of one of the most selfless teammates we’ve got. If anybody deserves this, she does. and we need your help.
