Help Priya Accomplish Her Dream- College Tuition

My love for performing is like no other. The second I set foot on that stage, everything else falls away and I am immersed in a whole different universe. The one thing in life that brings me the most joy is being able to tell a story, and include an audience. When I perform, the audience and I are one. When performing, I want to inspire, intrigue, and give hope. I want to tell a story that resonates in the hearts of others. When I was young, watching people perform pulled me through anything I was going through at the time. I looked up to them and performers I love ignited my passion even more. I want to do that for the next generation as well. My dream doesn’t stop there, I want to bring healing and therapeutic remedies into my journey, helping kids express themselves in the same way I was able to. Theater helped me through the darkest times in my childhood and pushed me to discover my voice in which I am determined to use to inspire others. I want to be a voice through theater, that some people don't have. In theater, you have a chance to tell a story and inspire thousands amongst thousands of people, and spread love and positivity as you do it. That is what I want more than anything. I have a gift, and I want to use it to help and uplift everyone I can.
Throughout my whole life, I’ve always wanted to be a performer. I took every chance I got to learn a new song or a new dance. I expressed myself through songwriting from a young age as well. Once I got to high school, my love for theater was sparked. I cry as I write this thinking about the first time I ever did a musical. My veins were pumping with adrenaline and I was so ready. I walked on that stage, heard the audience, and I knew. I knew that I was going to do that for the rest of my life. I gained a lot of experience in high school, learning how to navigate my craft and find myself while doing so. I took every opportunity to participate in a show and keep on gaining any experience I could.
Once I started my sophomore year, I started to look at colleges for the performing arts and did research day in and day out, trying to find the perfect fit. Sooner than later I came across my absolute dream school, AMDA, one of the most prestigious schools for the performing arts. They had an impeccable program, with stellar alumni and an amazing staff. I watched every single video, read every article, and found out all that I could about this school. Though I had to wait to apply, after continuing to research colleges and different programs, AMDA always stayed at the top of my list. I continued to tell myself and manifest getting into that school and expanding my craft to its full potential. Once the time came around, I applied and got an audition slot the first chance I got. I rehearsed my audition pieces with everything I had and gave it to God. Once I got to the audition, I knew the people that were there were the people I am meant to work with. Looking back it feels like a dream. About two weeks after my audition, I was accepted. I felt gratitude in every ounce of my body and everything felt right. I called my grandma-my #1 supporter- and we cried joyfully together. So far, most of the enrollment process has been easy and I'm so close to getting there. But, financially, I can't cross that bridge yet. I would be so forever grateful for any amount of help my family and I could get in making my dream of inspiring the young and elevating the old into one loving community through theater. Touching souls of all ages and walks of life through the healing powers of theater.
Even getting this opportunity means more than you all know. Thank you in advance for your time and consideration.
Love,
Priya
