Help Produce the Flock & Roll Pilot

Flock & Roll is the story of a band of young midwestern American birds trying to make their mark on the emo scene in the early 2010s. The band was called “Fight or Flight” and it was made up of 5 birds, founder and drummer Whiplash Woodpecker, lead guitarist and frontman Rockin Robin, Vocalist Punk Penguin, Keyboardist Harmony Hummingbird, and Bassist Funky Falcon. Homegrown in the city of Wingchester, IL, the band was still with their first manager, their high school music teacher, who was laughably out of touch with the band’s target audience and who frequently stuck them with gigs at dead end venues.

Show creator Sam Fesmire merges his experiences as an actor, animator, and musician to bring to life the vision of a bird rock band. The show will be an innovative fusion of gritty live-action footage and punchy, stylized animation representing our bird musicians and their effects on the world around them.

Tensions amongst the band will threaten its existence in the first season of this absurdist, stylized, and surprisingly mature look at found family and teamwork through the lens of a band of birds playing punk rock.
