Help Promise Finish Medical School

Hi everyone. My name is Promise Toyo. I am an international medical student at All Saints University, Dominica, and I am currently in my third year.

Being a medical doctor has always been a dream of mine, but life events have halted this dream for a couple of years to the point where it could completely cut it off.

In 2017, my sister was diagnosed with a mental illness that caused a lot of strain on the family financially, thus kickstarting the difficulty of being put through medical school. In the same year, I survived an accident that caused a temporary memory loss and a hurricane that hit the island where I studied medicine.

I was able to push through and finished my Basic medicine program but had to put school on hold to take care of my dad. He had retired and had been diagnosed with cancer and had to undergo surgery; around the same time, my sister and brother were admitted to the hospital multiple times because of their battles with their mental health.

This ultimately made it impossible for me to further my schooling, especially now that I am close to completing my medical program. I have come this far, and I don't want to be kicked out of school for insufficient funding. I have just 18 months left in medical school.

I have struggled in silence for so long, hoping things would change for the better. I have tried getting student and private loans but being an immigrant has made all attempts futile. The situation I am facing is now affecting my mental health, and I need all the help I can get.

The goal I arrived at covers my tuition for the rest of my schooling, textbooks, exam preparation materials, and registration. I just really need a win. Thank you so much for your contributions. Please share this with your loved ones to enable me to get all the help I can get.
