Help protect Burrill Pines' bush campsite

Hi there, Derek and Steve here - together with our extended families, we've been camping at Burrill Pines for over 20 years. Quite simply, it has got to be the best spot for family bush camping anywhere on the South Coast of NSW! The flora, birdlife, and proximity to the beach are truly unique.

But we've noticed, over the years, that the site is suffering from some erosion and drainage problems. We've also noticed the loss of the site's bush and thinning of the tree canopy in the campsite.

So this summer, Steve and I decided it's time to give back... We spoke with the site management about raising some funds for a bush-care project and they're fully supportive of our plans. In the coming winter, we'll make several environmental improvements to help restore the site - and ensure it's ready for the next generation of campers.

With your financial support, we'll be able to buy a small excavator for the full-time use at the site, to get on with some water drainage improvements, to reduce the flooding of campsites, as well as fixing some issues of erosion in key areas. We'll also re-plant lots of local plant species in some specially created bush regeneration areas within the campsite.
