Help Protect Srila Prabhupada's Legacy in Kumasi

Introduction
The Sri Sri Radha Gopinath temple is the only Hare Krishna temple in Kumasi, Ghana. The temple has been in existence for more than two decades and its one of the many legacies of H.H. Bhakti Tirtha Swami in Africa. The temple plays a significant role in the Kumasi community, offering a sacred environment where individuals can explore their spirituality through various classes and spiritual guidance. It serves as a hub for spiritual education, fostering peace, harmony, and personal growth among its members.
We organize regular Sunday feast programs, where devotees and spiritual seekers gather to enjoy delicious and nourishing vegetarian meals. Additionally, we extend our services to impoverished areas in Kumasi, providing free vegetarian meals to those in need, including prisons and educational institutions. Through our active involvement in the community, we aim not only to provide physical sustenance but also to foster a sense of unity, friendship, and spiritual solidarity, following the teachings of H.H. Bhakti Tirtha Swami, our param guru Srila Prabhupada, and the previous teachers of Hare Krishna.
Our Challenge
At present, the Radha-Gopinatha Temple faces challenges related to its drainage system. During rainfall, water accumulates on the land, leading to severe erosion that gradually undermines the foundation of the building. Furthermore, the absence of a protective wall around the temple premises exacerbates the issue, allowing debris and potentially hazardous creatures such as snakes and scorpions to enter the sacred space, including the revered altar of Their Lordships Sri Sri Radha Gopinatha. This situation compromises the safety of our dedicated community members and disrupts the tranquil and harmonious environment we endeavor to foster.
Project
We aim to construct a robust and efficient drainage system that can divert rainwater away from the temple. We also aim to build a protective wall that will fortify the temple, shielding it from intrusions, and animals and providing a safe environment for all the community members who live there or come there regularly for education and free vegetarian meals.
Support
The Kumasi community has already initiated fundraising efforts to construct a permanent drainage system and a protective wall around the temple land. However, we still require your assistance to help us preserve and safeguard this precious oasis established by Shrila Prabhupada for the benefit of conditioned souls worldwide.
Your generous contribution will directly contribute to the construction of the much-needed drainage system and wall. With your support, we can ensure the protection of our spiritual sanctuary, providing a haven for devotees and creating an environment conducive to worship, meditation, and contemplation. No donation is too small, and each act of kindness brings us closer to our objective. Your support will not only preserve the temple but also empower numerous individuals seeking solace and spiritual guidance within its sacred walls. We sincerely appreciate any contribution you can make, and the devotees in Kumasi extend their heartfelt gratitude for your generosity.
