Assist in protecting the Mary River from source to the sea
Hey guys, I'm Ryan and I am looking for your help to raise some funds for the future sustainability of the Mary River and it's diverse catchment.
With the looming Queensland Hydro Project in the Borumba Dam area along with our growing population and infrastructure, I believe that is an important time to ensure there is essential support behind the Mary River Catchment Coordinating Committee (MRCCC) in their active efforts to maintain a productive and sustainable catchment.
In late March I will be throwing my backpack on in the rolling hills of Booroobin (behind Maleny in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland) and beginning the 310km journey from the source of the Mary River to the sea at River Heads (18km South of Hervey Bay). Initially on foot and eventually meeting my kayak downstream, I will be covering the entire distance without leaving the river to make progress to capture the diverse change of landscapes between the rainforests of Maleny down to the Great Sandy Straights behind Fraser Island/K'gari.
Donations made here go directly to the MRCCC. A little goes a long way, please consider donating to assist in protecting the Mary River and it's 9,595²km catchment for future generations.
