Carl Highsmith and Protronics Needs your Help

After more than 50 years of serving the electronics and stereo community, Carl Highsmith must now close his beloved store, Protronics in Boone, NC. Carl has significant health issues and has been unable to work for several weeks. A skilled craftsman, Carl dedicated his life's work to fixing customers' broken electronics and preserving vintage audio gear while being an honest and fair businessman. He now needs our community's help to close up the shop, as this will take a huge load off his mind and body, and financial support is truly needed, every little bit will help.

This campaign will raise funds needed to close and liquidate Protronics in an orderly and fair fashion. 100% of all funds collected will ONLY go to necessary expenses, including past-due rent and other critical bills for the next few months. Any leftover funds will go straight to Carl and his family to help meet their basic needs.

Carl and his family are aware of and support this effort. Carl will not be able to assist in the physical work, and honestly, we, his friends, are truly challenged with how to close-up the shop and the business. For those who have visited Carl at Protronics, you know that the store is a stuffed-full museum and that it will take a LOT of work to wrap it up properly; so that its massive contents don't just go to a landfill or be sold for scrap.
