Help 2 pro-union workers fired by the Hyatt Regency Buffalo
Donation protected
On September 25th, two of our coworkers were fired: Bailey Nellis and Noman Chowdhury. They worked as baristas at the Hyatt Regency Buffalo, and they were among the boldest public supporters of our efforts to organize the hotel. Firing Bailey and Noman for helping organize others in the Starbucks has been a huge escalation in the company's campaign against our union. It has been chilling for all of us to see.
Noman and Bailey are great baristas, hard workers, and genuinely positive people whose company we all enjoy. They were courageous enough to stick their necks out to support a union here and to try to make the hotel better for all of us. For anyone who can offer their support, we are asking you to help them pay their bills while they look for other work and while we fight for their reinstatement. Our management company, Aimbridge Hospitality, and the owner of our hotel, Douglas Jemal, have decided to play with the livelihoods of two fantastic people in order to keep us from organizing. We are asking others to help show Bailey and Noman that we have their backs, we support them, and we won't let Aimbridge or Jemal get away with this.
