Help Provide Dental Care for Haitian Refugees
Donation protected
I'm a current fourth year dental student at the University of Buffalo. I was 1 of 10 fourth year dental students (there's 118 students in my class) to get selected to participate in an outreach over spring break (March 20-26, 2022) in La Romana, Dominican Republic. 8 of us are spending spring break there, volunteering in a charity clinic for Haitian refugees in the Haitian Migration camps. We will be providing basic oral healthcare screenings and doing free dentistry (extractions, fillings, etc.) for those in need. It's a privilege to be a part of this as the school has not been able to offer this opportunity the past 2 years. During the last trip, they were able to treat >500 patients by doing 546 fillings, 278 surgeries, 221 perio procedures, 44 dentures, 10 root canals, and 126 sealants. vHere's a video to summarize his mission trip and what I look forward to.
I am fundraising $2,000 to go towards flights, room and board, transportation to the mission sites, and mission expenses. Unfortunately, the supplies/materials, travel expenses, and lodging expenses are to be covered by us out of pocket. Because we are primarily living off of loans, we are asking our family, friends, and anyone else who would like to donate to help us fund this mission trip, so that we can provide care to those who otherwise might not receive it. Please help us help those who need it most! Any donation is greatly appreciated and is guaranteed to have a direct influence on providing care!
