Help Provide School Learning Materials for Children in Need

In the villages of Sierra Leone, there are children who wake up each day with dreams of becoming doctors, teachers, and leaders. But their dreams feel too far away when they have nothing but hunger and poverty standing between them and a classroom.

Take Amina, for example. At just 10 years old, Amina has a sharp mind and a heart full of hope. She dreams of becoming a doctor — to help others and lift her community. But every morning, Amina faces the same question: Will I be able to go to school today?

You see, Amina doesn’t have a school bag. She doesn’t own a single exercise book. And her shoes? They’re barely hanging together. Like so many children in Sierra Leone, Amina wants to learn, but her future is at risk without the basic tools to succeed.

Future Leaders Initiative SL created the Strong Start Scholarship to give children like Amina a fighting chance. We are determined to ensure that no child in Sierra Leone is left behind because they don’t have books, pens, or a school bag.

We’re helping ten students every 10 months — providing them with:

School Learning Materials: Exercise books, pens, uniforms, and other basics that every child needs to learn and grow.

A Sense of Belonging: Every child should feel proud when they walk into school, knowing they are ready to learn — not ashamed because they have nothing.

But we can't do it without your help.
