My roommates are kicking me out.
I think that choice is an ultimatum and a ridiculous one.
I've been looking for work as well as trying to get more hours at my current job since the beginning of the year. I haven't been successful. My manager hasn't been giving me more hours until last week, but that could be due to people putting in PTO and next week, my situation could be back where it was.
Ultimately, I think it's wild for a place I'm living to require hours worked as a condition of living there. How will you check this? Do you want to see my time punches? What happens if I'm sick—do you have to validate that I'm sick?
As the screenshots show, the latest I've paid rent this year is on the 2nd of any given month, aside from March, where I paid all but $12 on the 2nd, and paid the $12 I was short 4 days later. They have never told me they have a problem with me paying rent on the 2nd.
My point is, I think that if rent is paid, what I do shouldn't matter—something they themselves have said in the past.
My plan is to get my old job at the Starbucks in my hometown back. Other than that, I kinda don't know what's going to happen... my mom is getting some money within the next few weeks, she thinks, and said she will help me with a down payment for a place. I know if I get down to the wire have no other options, I can stay with a friend kinda far away... but we aren't there yet for any of these things, so everything just feels up in the air and I don't know.
I would use the money for food, getting a moving truck, boxes, giving my mom gas money to come and get me and drive me, paying my phone bill, paying someone to dogsit Pugsly if necessary, and getting a storage to store my stuff if necessary.
