Our nation needs uplifting stories that spring from our deepest common ground. With moving scenes and a lovely score, the brand-new stage musical SOMEWHERE BETWEEN uncovers understanding among divided neighbors in a small US town.

The vital next step in SOMEWHERE BETWEEN’s development journey is to create band arrangements and demos of the show’s 23 fresh pop-jazz songs by Alan Becker. Once the arrangements and demos are done, we can plan a regional premiere.

SOMEWHERE BETWEEN brings alive the intertwined stories of regular folks with no easy answers in life. They fight, fall in love, and face their fears to find their own trail and dodge the path family and friends try to put them on.

SOMEWHERE BETWEEN earned selection as one of six world finalists at the MUT International Composer Competition in Munich, and a German language premiere is now on the horizon. The show met an enthusiastic reception at Los Angeles readings and the Florida Festival of New Musicals, and is invited to be produced by a New York company with a dozen Off-Broadway shows to their credit. Two talented Broadway directors helped streamline the script and songs, so our next step after these orchestrations will be a test production, hopefully in Seattle, before New York and Europe.
