I can’t hug her because “it hurts”

My heart is heavy as I share with you the devastating news that our dear Samiyah was severely injured last Friday while at a friend's house. During her play date, she accidentally came into contact with boiling water, resulting in second-degree burns across her chest and belly. The pain she has endured since then has been unbearable, both physically and emotionally.
On Monday, July 31st, we took Samiyah to Arnold Palmer Children’s Hospital for her first visit to the burn clinic. The doctors needed to examine and remove the dead skin caused by the burns, which was an excruciatingly painful experience for her. As her mother, hearing her cries for help and begging me to make the doctors stop left me feeling utterly helpless. It's a feeling that I wouldn't wish upon anyone.
This burn injury has been a difficult and unexpected experience for us. Sadly she has been scheduled for weekly burn clinic visits and may require ongoing occupational therapy and even scar tissue surgery. As you know, these treatments can be costly and overwhelming, especially when they come unexpectedly. That's why we are reaching out to for support in helping Samiyah receive the care and treatment she deserves. Any assistance, big or small, would be greatly appreciated during this challenging time.
