Help Brandon aka Quazar & Gwendolyn Rebuild After the Fire

Brandon Jay, aka Quazar, and Gwendolyn Sanford have tragically lost their Altadena family home and professional music and recording studio in the horrific Eaton Canyon firestorm. Their home is a complete loss, and they, their two kids and dog have a long road ahead of them.

Well known as the most giving people in the Los Angeles music and art scenes, if you've had the good fortune to cross paths with the Jays in these past 30 years, you’ve surely benefited from their generosity, enrichment, and friendship. You’ve enjoyed their music on your favorite stages and TV shows, they’ve gotten you gigs, helped you move, given you recommendations, or have opened their home or studio to you.

Brandon and Gwendolyn have always been the first to step forward for a person in need - and now it's our opportunity to give back.

Having had to quickly evacuate in the night, they lost EVERYTHING to the fire as it rapidly destroyed their home, workspace, clothes, dishes, appliances, artwork, furniture, studio recording equipment, (countless) musical instruments... every part of their livelihood and of their children’s, as well.

To even begin to rebuild is a very long road of bureaucracy; it will likely take months to years. But with two school-aged children, their most immediate goal is to achieve normalcy for the kids as soon as possible.

So that they may find and put a deposit down on a rental home and get the kiddoes back to school and their friends as soon as possible, our goal is to raise enough funding so they can plant a solid foundation while they wait for coverages to kick in ~ and get them back to what they do best: creating amazing music and being some of the best friends you'll ever know.

*About the organizers: We are close friends to Gwendolyn and Quazar, Shereen Khan and Matt Chait, and live in the Atwater Village and Pasadena necks of Los Angeles, respectively. All funds collected here will transfer directly to the Jays and spent on re-housing their family and all related expenses including rent, security deposit, utilities, clothes for the kids, necessary appliances and home supplies for multiple months.
