Help Queer CQNNECTIQN thrive at PiNQ in pdx!

Donation protected
PiNQ is a Queer cafe and bar in Portland's Ankeny Alley, and within the historically Queer neighborhood--an act of anti-gentrification and sustainable,ethics-led growth for downtown.

We book 50% of our bookings with POC, and 50% of our bookings are trans or nonbinary individuals. We'll be accepting private events bookings, pop-ups, collaborations and more. We're all ages til 9 pm, which is important to Queer spaces, and actively decentralize alcohol.

We are a worker-owned cooperative, and will always be, whether we grow or change in membership. Cooperatives allow workers to own their own labor and production.

When we are fully established, we hope to move to a 24-hr model, filling a niche left by the legendary ROXY. We were born out of the collectivization of staff and working artists out of the recently closed Queens Head, and were able to secure the lease to the space and change operations to accommodate the organizers we have left.

After losing all but 3 members of the original staff & community team, and surveying & receiving feedback from the community, we felt the need to change the name to something new, recognizable and relevant.

We changed the name to reflect us, our politics, mission and the needs of the community: provocative art, culture keeping, cooperative economics, respite, joy,
anti-colonization, anti-oppression, anti-gentrification, subversion of expectations around femininity, and blatant queerness.

CQNNECTIQN is our nonprofit to help fund provocative artistic expression, rad economics, anti-oppression organizing & Queer culture keeping–We are seeking to provide space for our people to exist in their whole selves and connect, being in community with our culture and discovering good works.

We value as much transparency as possible, and we also value your donations. Our organizers have been working without pay for two months, and our work is expensive. We lost some of our equipment, experienced some theft, and we need operating funds to retain the space and support our network of working artists and our volunteer activities.
