Help First Gen Public Defender Pass the Bar

Please consider donating and sharing this vital fundraiser. We need more first-generation attorneys who better understand and advocate for clients. There are real barriers to entering the legal profession, especially for those pursuing public interest work. We can vouch that this person is very worthy of this support. Anonymity is used here for good reason.

Within our queer community in Pennsylvania, a 2022 law school graduate is preparing to take the bar exam in July and move to a new city in August to serve as a Public Defender. After surviving two sexual assaults during the last year of law school, this individual now needs assistance to pay for their final course credits, prepare for the bar exam in a different state and move across the country without any financial support. This individual is a child of immigrants and a First Generation Attorney.

 

In order to protect this survivor's identity, we have offered to steward this fund. Any monies raised will be used to cover the following expenses:

We are happy to answer any questions regarding the above expenses, as long as they are not meant to identify this individual. All expenses are budgeted and itemized. Any monies raised above and beyond the needed amount will be donated to a local Bail Fund.
