Help queer refugees flee persecution in Uganda

Donation protected
You may have seen the horrible news that the president of Uganda signed into law on May 29 a bill which decrees life in prison for those convicted of having gay sex. This is already having a terrifying effect on queer Ugandans, who are pleading for money so they can flee the country into Kenya. All the money you generously give to this fundraiser will be used to help them escape (it costs around £50/$60 per person to get them over the border), as well as supporting the safe house run by Geoffrey.

Here's a message from Geoffrey:

"Even before the president signed the 'kill the gays bill' in Uganda, many LGBTIQ people have started living a miserable life since safe houses have been closed. Many are now homeless, some are arrested or face mob justice, others are fleeing the country for their safety and our fundraiser has so far supported some people to come seek asylum here in Kenya. Once they get to Kakuma refugee camp in north-western Kenya, they can wait for the United Nations High Commission for Refugees) to resettle them to safer countries, a long process.

"We would also take this opportunity to humbly thank you so much for your contributions to our safe house and livelihood projects. God bless the work of your hands. Any support given is greatly appreciated."

NB: For total transparency, I will be receiving the money and sending it to Geoffrey via mobile-money payment. I will be more than happy to send proof of transfer to anyone who'd like to see it.
