Help Quigley Walk Again: Support His Recovery

This is Katelyn & Quigley.
Katelyn (my daughter) is 18 years old, hardworking, and has a heart for animals that’s bigger than the Kansas sky.
She’s been raising and training a horse for two years with a goal of rescuing abandoned and abused horses. She also has a bottle-fed orphaned calf, recently rescued two neglected Shetland ponies (her first rescue), and works with Kansas City Pet Project to bottle-feed rescued day-old kittens. Every spare dollar and hour has gone into giving animals a better life.
But her closest companion is Quigley.
Quigley is a two-year-old Border Collie mix. Katelyn has trained him since he was a pup—teaching him tricks, public manners, and even commands in German—with the dream of making him a therapy dog to visit hospitals and bring joy to others.
Then, out of nowhere, Quigley started falling down when trying to stand.
He couldn’t walk. His muscles were shutting down. After rushing him to the ER on April 13th, he was transferred to the ICU at Kansas State University’s vet hospital. It was a scary 30 hours—multiple doctors, constant testing, and no answers.
Finally, a diagnosis: Myasthenia Gravis, a rare neurological disorder that causes severe muscle weakness which can lead to respiratory failure.
Katelyn made the only choice she could—she gave everything she had to get Quigley the emergency treatment he needed. And miraculously, it worked. One critical round of medication restored the signals between his brain and muscles. Quigley stood again.
He still needs ongoing care--medications 3x per day, but Katelyn isn't asking for help with that.
She only needs help covering the vet bills that saved his life.
Katelyn must medicate Quigley three times a day while caring for her other animals—managing daily chores on the family farm and trying to stay strong. But her savings are gone, and the burden is heavy.
If you’ve ever loved a pet like family, you understand.
Katelyn is doing all she can to help Quigley—and keep her rescue efforts going.
Let’s help lift her up like she’s lifted so many animals before.
Every gift matters. Every share helps.
Let’s get Quigley back on his feet—and back to his purpose. One day, he’ll walk into a hospital with a wagging tail and a story of his own—one of hope, healing, and second chances.
