Help Rabbi Baidoo's Transition to Texas A&M

Donation protected
My name is Rabbi Coffie Baidoo, and I have been admitted to Texas A&M University to pursue a Doctor of Philosophy in Microbiology with at least 90 credits starting this fall (2024). The Department of Biology is offering me a Graduate Teaching Assistantship, which covers tuition, required fees, and a stipend of $30,000 per year ($2,500 per month), beginning September 1, 2024.

My research work will focus on a crucial area in microbiology-how alterations in the Gram-negative bacterial outer membrane (OM) influence antibiotic resistance and pathogenesis. This research has the potential to identify novel targets for therapeutics that disrupt persistent bacterial infections, a significant contribution to the field.

Why you should support me:
I'm reaching out to you for your support because moving from Ghana to the United States has presented significant financial challenges, especially with the expenses for my travel and the initial weeks of living in College Station before I start receiving payment for my teaching assistantship offer.

Relevant expenses to help me get started

• Airfare One-way ticket: $1,500
• Housing for two months: $1630
• Health insurance for first 60 days: $1000
• Groceries and personal items for two months: $500
• Extraneous expenses: $370
