Help Rachel & Family get back on their feet

The floods in Gympie in February 2022 have affected many. One particular family needs our help.

Rachel, Quentin, Reece, Hannah and Holly are in need.

You can not meet a nicer family - and they just keep getting struck down time and time again. It’s heartbreaking to watch.

Among other things, Rach has been fighting cancer for 2 years, their truck towing their gooseneck blew up last week and now they’ve watched their 2 storey house and all their belongings go under. They were unable to insure the property they have lived at for 16 years this year.

On Saturday afternoon, after watching the waters rise all day, they had to make the heartbreaking decision to abandon their home. They kayaked to the neighbours.

They never imagined their 2 storey home would have been engulfed. Water levels went to over their kitchen bench tops, ruining everything.

We need to get behind Rach and her beautiful family now. Here’s just a small list of things they have lost, and will need to replace:

Fridges, freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, dryer, beds, cupboards, pumps, fences, and Rachel said she watched in shock and horror as her full water tank floated away.

I’ve told Rachel she needs to put her pride in her pocket for a while and accept help. This beautiful family are familiar faces around the Sunshine Coast Pony Club scene.

Let’s all get behind an Aussie family who really can’t catch a break.
