Help Rachel Guhl Eckman Beat Breast Cancer

The friends and family of Rachel Guhl Eckman are fundraising to help her beat breast cancer.

Rachel was diagnosed in September 2021 with Stage 3 breast cancer that was picked up on a routine mammogram. Our family had noticed her decline in energy and health, but we couldn't figure out what was wrong. At first, we were relieved to have a diagnosis and answer to all of the questions that had been building up until that point. But nothing could have prepared us for how difficult the journey would be.

Rachel was set to get back to work after the effects of the pandemic but was instead met with a breast cancer diagnosis and the subsequent battle. After going through 8 months of chemotherapy (two different types) and multiple surgeries this summer, Rachel is only halfway through her journey. Although she beat steroid-induced diabetes resulting from the chemotherapy, she is currently in treatment for neuropathy and healing from her surgeries. In order to be cancer-free, Rachel still has to undergo a mastectomy on her left side (possibly both sides). She will also need time to heal and radiation therapy after that.

We are raising money to help take the financial burden off of her family and allow Rachel to instead focus on getting well again. A donation of any size will help with Rachel's medical bills and her family's living expenses. This past year has gone quickly, but not without its emotional turmoil. Rachel and her family are very thankful for all of the love, prayers, and assistance received so far. It has helped more than you know. We all wish to see Rachel happy, healthy, and able to return to the field of work for which she holds so much love and passion.
