Support Rach's cancer battle

Hi I am Rachel (36) and a mother to 6 beautiful children.

As some of you maybe aware, in April 2021 I was diagnosed with cervical cancer. After multiple hospital visits, scans and tests the doctors gave me the devastating news that I had stage 3c2 Adenosquamous carcinoma of the cervix and that my cancer has spread to various other lymph nodes within my body. It was then I was told the survival rate was around 31%. I was advised that my only treatment option at this stage would be a combination of chemotherapy and radiotherapy. As a mother of six children this was extremely hard to come to terms with.

After 13 long weeks, 28 sessions of radiotherapy, 5 sessions of chemotherapy, 4 sessions of brachytherapy and a blood transfusion I was told that my tumour had shrunk. An MRI in Nov 2021 confirmed that, despite completing my treatment, the cancer was still in my cervix and I needed more tests. Following these tests I was given the unthinkable news that the cancer was also now in my uterus.

In January this year I met with my consultant, who advised me that my options at this point would be to have major life changing surgery, which has been scheduled for a few weeks time or opt for palliative care - no way that is even an option. It is going to be a long and slow recovery process, over many months, but I am very determined to come out of the other side with the same positive outlook on life that I always have. It has truly been the worse time in my life and I could not have got through it without the support of my amazing partner, children, family and friends as well as my amazing team at clatterbridge and Liverpool women's hospital.

Now I am looking for some help....
My amazing children have been through a hughly challenging journey since my cancer diagnosis and are coping as well as can be. Knowing the future months ahead are going to be, hopefully, one to recovery I would like to give them the opportunity to do the things they love such a swimming, rubgy matches, days out together with family etc. And the worry free days they deserve.
Having not been able to work due to this horrible illness any donation, however small, will make a huge differene and will be greatly appreciated by us all to take away some of the, unforseen, financial pressure. If you are unable to make a donation, I ask if you could please help by sharing this page and keeping me and my family in your thoughts and prayers. Thank you for your love an support.

Thanks Rach xx
