Help Rachel pay off vet bills

My sister-in-law lost her companion on Tuesday night and is now facing the grief of this loss as well as a suffocating financial burden after a few grueling days of emergency vet operations, transferring pet hospitals, blood work and transfusions, ultrasounds, feeding tubes, a few nights in the ICU, anesthesia and a colonoscopy and biopsy.  Zara, a beautiful golden retriever who was just over 2 years old, started showing symptoms of lethargy, bloating, and bloody stool before Rachel made the decision to take her to the vet on Friday afternoon.

Rachel and her fiancé, Mark Anthony (who were recently engaged just one week ago) maxed out their credit cards doing all they could to find out first what was wrong with Zara and then to treat her. She was such a young and seemingly healthy golden retriever that it was hard to believe all of this was happening. The veterinarians thought that some of what she was showing - like a protein-deficiency caused by proteins not processing through the body and nutrients getting peed out - was something she had dealt with since birth.

At first the prices were high but they were managing, but the cost kept going up as Zara was not getting better and the procedures and tests were getting more expensive. On Tuesday afternoon the veterinarians finally made the call that they had done all they could and Zara was going to need to be put to sleep. She got to be in Rachel's arms as she fell asleep and passed away. We are all so sad for this loss and the financial burden it has put on Rachel and Mark Anthony's shoulders - especially after ultimately having to say goodbye to their good girl.
