Help Raf and Daisy Rebuild After Fire

In the recent Palisades fire the apartment building that my dad, Raf and I lived in for 21 years burned to the ground. It is where I grew up and where my dad's whole life was. The Palisades fire started in the hills right in back of his apartment around 10:30am and we had to evacuate by noon. So, we were unprepared and hardly took any of our belongings.

My dad is an artist, a writer, a painter, a musician, a surfer. He lost all of his paintings, most of his musical instruments, surfboards, and so much of my childhood memorabilia, and much of my current possessions as well, etc. All of what makes a house a home. It was a very small apartment but the ocean view, nature, and community that came out of that building over the years we are both going to miss so much.

My dad is one of the most generous people I know and feels incredibly uncomfortable asking for anything. He is reliable, giving, wise and cares enormously about other human beings, animals, and the environment, especially hiking in our neighborhood and the Pacific Ocean. He even rescued ducklings that flew into the pool many years ago. He has been a screenwriter for Hollywood my whole life and in recent years has been out of work due to the mass changes in the industry.

Creating this gofundme is definitely outside of our comfort zone and we know the levels of destruction have been so great. We are so sad about all of LA. Thank you for the encouragement to set this up, we are so grateful for any kind of support.
