From the Heart: A Call to Support Rafi Lounge

Dear friends,

We make a living by what we get, but we make life by what we give!

My name is Rafi, and I am the founder of Rafi Lounge, located in Malibu, California. Four years ago, in the midst of the pandemic, I envisioned a space where our community could come together to heal and rejuvenate despite the challenges.

Rafi Lounge became that sanctuary, offering wellness programs that have supported our LA and local community through some of the hardest times we’ve faced.

As a member of this community and the owner of Rafi Lounge, I have witnessed firsthand the struggles and triumphs of those around me. Rafi Lounge has become a pillar of support, providing vital resources for mental and physical health. However, our journey has been challenged by recent wildfires that have devastated our area.

In December, the Franklin Fire caused significant damage to our lounge. We worked diligently to restore our space and even hosted a holiday gathering to lift spirits. Although our lounge and community did not recover from the first fire, we were ready to stand strong for our community once again and reopen with renewed programming and a Biohack center, but then, the Palisades Fire struck, causing even more devestating damage. The winds were ferocious, and the flames encroached upon our beloved lounge, leading to the destruction of furniture, protective structures, electrical equipment, and more.

As we wanted to stand strong for our community during the recent fires, I, stayed behind and kept parts of the lounge indoor spaces open for some of our community members and first responders so they could use our facility for hot showers, biohaeck healing modalities, and even for some of the first responders a place to put their heads and rest for few hours through the night.

After the fires, we spent a month of intensive cleanup, restoration, and rebuilding as we are committed to continuing our mission to serve the community providing them a place to work from while receiving all the healing classes and modalities. However, the impact of these fires has left us in a precarious financial situation. Many of our members have lost their homes or relocated, and for those locals who could stay behind, we understood that once again, we need to stand strong for them and provide them with their urgent need for healing and support in these challenging times.

How the Funds Will Be Used

The funds raised through this campaign will be used specifically for:

1. Operational Costs: Covering day-to-day management expenses, including management and other necessary overhead to keep Rafi Lounge open and functioning.

2. Program Funding: Supporting our donation-based wellness programs, including hot yoga, meditation, sound baths, and various Biohack modalities like hyperbaric therapy and red light therapy.

3. Community Outreach: Developing initiatives to reach out to community members who are struggling and ensuring they have access to our services, regardless of their financial situation.

I ask you, from the bottom of my heart, to help us make this urgent vision a reality. Your contributions will allow us to keep our doors open and provide essential services to those in need. Malibu is facing isolation, with burned structures and mudslides surrounding our location. Our local community is in desperate need of the support and healing that Rafi Lounge set to offer during these harsh times.
