Help Raghad Ali's Family Rebuild Their Lives
Donation protected
Dear friends and neighbors,
My name is Rachel, and I'm reaching out from the metropolitan Atlanta area to share a story that has deeply touched my heart. I've started this fundraiser for a brave little girl named Raghad Ali, whose life has been forever altered by the ongoing conflict in Gaza. Raghad, a name that means 'abundance' and 'comfort' in Arabic, embodies the resilience and hope of her family despite facing unimaginable challenges.

Raghad, at just 5 years old, has already endured more than most of us can fathom. Alongside her siblings Shahd (7), Jalal (4), and Ali (1), and their parents Jamal (30) and Ramia (24), Raghad survived the destruction of their home and the loss of a beloved sibling to the ravages of war. Now displaced, they find themselves in a refugee camp where even basic necessities like food and water are scarce and delivered by parachute drops.

Despite her tender age, Raghad faces profound health challenges. She suffers from brain atrophy, rendering her unable to hear or speak. She is epileptic and suffers from debilitating seizures if she does not receive the adequate medication (i.e. Donepezil, Memantine, and Nicotinamide Riboside) to offset them. When the temperature is too hot, she experiences gushing nosebleeds. Most recently, her vision has begun to deteriorate. Her right leg, injured multiple times during the conflict, requires multiple surgeries. Raghad was trapped below the rubble of her home when her father, Jamal, discovered her. She currently relies on metal plates to support her leg and faces imminent surgery for the installation of a third metal plate to complete her treatment. These injuries have left her immobile, dependent on diapers, and unable to play with her siblings as any child should.

The expenses for Raghad's care and her family's survival are daunting, but doable:
- Monthly costs for diapers, food, and medicine: $100
- Surgery to complete Raghad's leg treatment: $1,400
- Crucial cochlear implant surgery: $16,000
- Costs for the family's 6 members’ relocation to safety and stability in Turkey: $18,000
Due to rules and regulations in the region where the Ali family was most recently displaced to, all funds raised will be transferred directly via Western Union in small increments to their close blood relative, Hicazi Hicazi, a legal resident in Istanbul, Turkey. Hicazi will then be sending the funds raised via PayPal to Jamal Ali, father of this family. This ensures that every donation directly supports Raghad's urgent needs and facilitates her family's journey to a new beginning in Turkey where they will reunite with friends and relatives. Jamal Ali is happy to provide receipts for every single thing the money goes toward for his family. Jamal plans on taking Raghad to an Istanbul hospital which specializes in orthopedic medicine, and they plan to enter into Turkey through The Red Crescent.
Every contribution, regardless of size, is a beacon of hope for Raghad and her family. Your support can make a life-changing difference in their lives.
Thank you for opening your hearts to Raghad and her family during this unimaginably difficult time. May your kindness and generosity be rewarded many times over.
