Help raise funds for Eric’s TiMband helmet
Donation protected
Hello,
This has been a difficult decision for us to set up this fundraiser but unfortunately the fix for Eric’s head isn’t covered under the NHS.
There are other factors, such as me being self employed and needing to take Eric for appointments every 2 weeks, that unfortunately fall on my working days.
We are going to use a clinic called Technology in Motion who specialise in Plagiocephaly and Brachycephaly in babies- Eric unfortunately has both of these.
We think that Eric was born with Torticollis which basically restricted his movement and he was unable to move his neck to the left he therefore lay his head to the right causing a flat head.
Eric was born via C-Section and with a tongue tie, which also can be some of the reasons for this condition.
Since Eric was born we have spent close to £1,000 on tongue tie release, private appointments, mattresses and pillows etc to try and fix the shape off Eric’s head without the need for a helmet.
We were advised by Erics’s Osteopath that he would just grow out of his flat head which we naively believed, and have waited two months since he started side sleeping but there have been no improvements.
The NHS will not comment on flat heads for babies and our only option is to treat him privately.
This is where we need your help.... The cost of the helmet is £2,595!!! If anyone can donate anything at all to help with the cost of his treatment we would be extremely grateful.
The sooner we can raise funds and get Eric a helmet the better his outcome will be and he will wear the helmet for less time.
Thank you for reading and I will update Eric’s progress once we manage to raise enough funds to get him the helmet.
